Avoidance | Series 2 Preview (BBC One)

Jonathan (Romesh Ranganathan) is back and he’s reinvented himself. He may have a new body, a new hobby, and a lot of lycra, but he’s still stuck avoiding conflict and all the mess that causes.

Jonathan is determined to win back his ex-partner Claire (Jessica Knappett) and rebuild his family and make son, Spencer (Kieran Logendra) happy. However, any chance of their love rekindling is complicated by new love interests Brett (Matthew Lewis) and Megan (Aisling Bea).

Meanwhile, Jonathan’s sister, Dan (Mandeep Dhillon) and her wife Courtney (Lisa McGrillis) are expecting a baby and feel anything but ready.Looking like the leading man in a rom-com, Jonathan (Romesh Ranganathan) knocks on his ex Claire’s (Jessica Knappett) front door.

He tells her he made a mistake and wants her back, she throws her arms around him and they kiss. Then Jonathan’s alarm clock goes off - it was all a dream, very much divorced from reality, but Jonathan has an epiphany and is now on a mission to win back Claire by reinventing himself. And wearing lycra.

It’s all change with our gang - Jonathan now wakes up every morning to say his positive morning affirmations, Courtney (Lisa McGrillis) and Dan (Mandeep Dhillon) are expecting a baby and Spencer’s (Kieran Logendra) got braces!

Jonathan is strong armed into becoming a prize at the school fundraiser ‘favours’ auction by a pushy parent and catches the eye of Megan (Aisling Bea), a fellow parent who bids the highest for him. Whilst Claire is preoccupied with her new beau ‘hot furniture guy’, Brett (Matthew Lewis). But will Jonathan's plans of a grand, romantic gesture for Claire fall flat?
