What to watch this month.



Boiling Point, BBC One

The hugely successful, multi award-winning feature film Boiling Point is coming to BBC One and iPlayer as a new drama series. Picking up six months on from where the film left off, Boiling Point will see Sous Chef Carly (Vinette Robinson) as Head Chef at her own restaurant.



The Reckoning, BBC One

The mini-series will trace the life of Jimmy Savile, a man who rose from working-class origins to become one of the biggest stars of British television, but in death has become one of the most reviled figures of modern history following revelations of extensive and horrific abuse.


Shetland, BBC One

Originally based on award-winning novels by crime writer Ann Cleeves, the new series sees Met Police Detective Inspector Ruth Calder (Ashley Jensen), return to her native Shetland to retrieve the vulnerable witness to a gangland murder.



Planet Earth III, BBC One

The series will focus on the five major underwater habitats: the Tropical Seas, Temperate Seas, Polar Seas, High Seas and Deep Seas. All unique and home to different species, we will tell dramatic and revelatory tales from beneath the waves.


Survivor, BBC One (to be confirmed)

20 people, carefully selected from across the UK will be marooned in a tropical location. They will be divided into two tribes, going head-to-head in a range of physical and psychological challenges. Following a number of eliminations that will take place at the iconic tribal council, the tribes will eventually merge before one person takes away a cash prize.



Payback, ITV1

A compelling character-led series, Payback follows Lexie Noble as she becomes entangled in a perilous police operation to topple notorious crime lord Cal Morris.


Mamma Mia: I Have A Dream, ITV1

The series will be searching to find two future musical theatre stars to play the integral roles of Sophie and Sky (played by Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper in the hit films) in this global smash-hit feel-good musical.



Jeopardy, ITV1 (to be confirmed)

Hosted by legendary broadcaster Stephen Fry, the classic US gameshow coming to ITV1 and ITVX for weekday entertainment will provide nostalgia for fans of the format while introducing the family quiz show to a new audience.


Big Brother, ITV2

A new cast of carefully selected housemates from all walks of life will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home, with cameras capturing their every move and the nation following every twist and turn.


The Great British Bake Off, Channel 4

Alison Hammond joins Noel Fielding to lead the next batch of 12 bakers through 30 new challenges set by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.



Don't Look Down, Channel 4

Celebrities undertake a summer training camp in the Austrian Alps, tutored by the world’s foremost experts in high wire walking. They are being coached to conquer their fears as they face a series of physically and mentally demanding training exercises.


Married At First Sight UK, E4

Series continues. The couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake.



Endurance: Race To The Pole, Channel 5

New three-part immersive documentary series following Ben Fogle and Dwayne Fields as they relive the trials and tribulations of the deadly race to the pole at the beginning of the 20th Century.


All Creatures Great & Small, Channel 5

It is Spring 1940 and change is on the horizon for everyone in Skeldale House. James and Helen wonder when the right time might be to start a family, not knowing whether or not James will be called up to serve in the RAF.



The Good Ship Murder, Channel 5

Set aboard a luxury cruise liner touring everyone’s favourite Mediterranean holiday hotspots, bubbling with intrigue, rivalries, glamour, money and class divides – but its new cabaret singer, ex detective Jack Grayling, soon discovers there are also more sinister elements below the surface.


Ghosts, BBC One

With the B&B gone, Mike anxiously strives to fix their finances, but it’s April Fools' Day, and a distracted Alison is out for revenge. The couple receive some life-changing news.
