Athletics takes centre stage for the first time at the Paris Games, while Team GB will hope to capitalise on some golden opportunities for medals in the diving and rowing.



Reigning world champion Josh Kerr begins his quest for another 1,500m gold, while Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita will be raring to go in the women’s 100m heats.


Diver Jack Laugher will try to somersault his way to a fourth Olympic medal in the men’s synchronised 3m springboard final with partner Anthony Harding. More British duos are predicted success in the rowing, with Tom George and Ollie Wynne-Griffith competing in the men’s pair final before double world champions Emily Craig and Imogen Grant take to the water in the women’s double sculls.


Great British gymnast Bryony Page seeks to upgrade her Tokyo bronze on the trampoline, while world number one Seonaid McIntosh aims to become the first British female to win an Olympic shooting medal in the 50m rifle 3 position final.



Hazel Irvine hosts another action-packed afternoon in the French capital, as Great Britain’s elite riders prepare to jump for gold at the picturesque and iconic Palace of Versailles.


Show jumping made its Olympic debut at the 1900 Paris Games, and 124 years later, the world’s best riders and their horses are set to compete on the most opulent of stages. Sweden have dominated the international scene in recent years, and the defending champions will be hard to stop, but Team GB can boast the likes of Tokyo individual gold medal winner Ben Maher, who is competing at his fifth Olympics.


There are also medals to be decided in badminton’s mixed doubles and in judo, with home favourite Teddy Riner the star name in the men’s heavyweight division.
