MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT UK 'SET TO BE EXTENDED' AND MORE SPIN-OFFS FOR E4

Married At First Sight UK is reportedly set to be extended by 10 extra episodes for the 2023 series, meaning the new series could run for 40 episodes. It follows this year's extension of the format to 30 episodes for the 2022 series.

The Sun also reports that producers are eyeing up more opportunities to expand the Married At First Sight UK franchise with more spin-offs planned for the years ahead.

The new series will once again follow a fresh batch of singles, whose search for love and a happy-ever-after will lead them to saying “I do” to a complete stranger, whom they’ll meet for the first time on their wedding day.

An 'insider' told The Sun: "Married At First Sight UK has been nothing short of a phenomenon for E4 over the last two years and producers are really keen to capitalise on that by giving viewers even more of what they want...

"The 2022 series ran for 30 episodes, but the 2023 run is likely to go for 40 episodes. With ten extra episodes, fans can expect plenty of new twists and format tweaks to make the show even more shocking and unpredictable."

They continued: "MAFS has broken ratings records for E4 and was the most watched show on catch-up service All4 of 2022. There is no sign of it slowing down."

Married At First Sight UK returns to E4 this Sunday (11th December) with a Christmas reunion special. The 90-minute specials sees some of the most memorable brides and grooms head off to a swanky country hideaway for a festive dinner party that they'll never forget.

For the 2021 brides Alexis, Amy and Nikita, and 2022's Zoe and Jenna, Chanita, Jordan, Pjay, Duka, Adrian, Thomas and Jonathan, it's an opportunity to evaluate their experiences and look ahead to the new year. As they arrive, they confront ghosts from their Christmas past and present.

Speaking earlier this year, E4's Karl Warner said: "Married at First Sight UK is the real deal when it comes to finding love and with our expert match makers on hand, we’re back searching the country to try to create more love-matches."

Previous series of Married At First Sight UK are available on All4.
