As revealed by TV Zone, ITV has confirmed the commission of a fifth series of its smash-hit daytime game show Lingo, hosted by Adil Ray.

Produced by Objective Entertainment, part of Objective Media Group, an All3Media Company, the latest run will consist of 29 brand new 60-minute episodes, a Soccer Aid special and 10x30-minute fun-filled celebrity episodes set to air on ITV weekday evenings.

Launched in 2021, Lingo quickly established itself as a fan favourite, boasting the best launch for a game show in the 3pm slot since 2002. Combining rapid-fire wordplay, gripping gameplay and Adil’s signature wit and charm, Lingo challenges contestants to solve Lingos and crack Puzzlewords as they race against the clock to win a £15,000 jackpot.

The ‘winner stays on’ format returns for this new series, giving contestants who reach the final round the chance to return and build their prize pot over multiple episodes. With high stakes, a fast pace, and plenty of opportunities to play along at home, Lingo continues to be one of the most compelling shows in ITV’s daytime schedule.

The most recent series, which aired in January 2025, was a ratings winner—outperforming the slot average by 27% and securing the top spot for ITV1 among both Adults 16–34 and Adults 35–54.

Set to air in 2026 in a new weekday slot, Celebrity Lingo will see Adil referee two teams of celebrities as they go head-to-head in the same gripping wordplay. Across the fast paced 30-minute episodes the well-known teams will race to fill in the blanks in the hope of raising money for their chosen charities. Packed with humour from our star-studded line up, Celebrity Lingo will bring the star treatment to the fan-favourite game.

Adil Ray said, “The country’s biggest word game is back! I genuinely can’t wait to play along with you and now our favourite celebrities! How good are the big names at the small words? This promises to be hilarious! Do you know your Lingo??”

Lingo is an IDTV (All3Media) and Talpa TV format, distributed by All3Media International. Lingo is produced by Objective Entertainment out of Objective Media Group North’s Manchester base, for ITV1. The Executive producers are Julie Kelling, Neale Simpson and Ben Shephard for Objective Entertainment and Pam Cavannagh for OMG North.
