Joe Swash is to front new eye-opening BBC documentary exploring life for young dads in the UK.

Joe Swash commented: "We don’t often hear from – or talk about – young dads in the UK. It’s been eye-opening to meet the young men behind the statistics. The ones working hard to create a good future for their kids. I feel lucky that we’ve been able to help tell their stories and hopefully we can get people thinking a bit differently about young dads."
BBC Commissioning Editor, Ceri Aston, added: "We’re delighted that Joe is fronting this powerful documentary which shines a light on the reality of young fatherhood. As someone who became a first-time dad in his mid-twenties, Joe brings a deeply personal perspective to the film, giving a voice to young men whose stories are rarely heard. We hope this documentary helps challenge stereotypes and reshape perceptions of these dads on their journey through fatherhood."
In 2023, Swash fronted his first BBC documentary, Teens In Care, which followed the star as he explores the stories of teens in care over the age of 16, who are the largest growing cohort in both child protection and care.
The acclaimed emotive documentary sees Joe spend time with teens who are at different stages of their lives in care, some in foster care, others in residential care and some who have left at 18 and trying to make it alone.
In addition to spending time with teens, Joe met experts and policy makers to ask what they are doing to fix a system that he feels appears to be failing the young people it’s supposed to be caring for, establish the root causes and explore where the signs of optimism are.
More details will be announced in due course.
