ITV2 REVISIT THE KILLING OF CHARLOTTE BROWN

For the first time on British television, this two-part documentary tells in full the dramatic story of an online date that ended in tragedy and led to an international manhunt.

Jack Shepherd, 28, met Charlotte Brown, 24 for the first and only time on December 8th, 2015. Jack wined and dined Charlotte at the Shard before offering her a ride on his speedboat on the Thames. Hours later, Charlotte’s body was lifted from the water.

First hand testimony from Charlotte’s sister, mum, dad and close friends tells the heart-breaking story of that tragic night and the family’s fight for justice.

A post-mortem ruled she died from cold water immersion. Jack Shepherd was unharmed. At first, the case seemed like an unlucky accident but, as the police investigation progressed, the evidence began to stack up against Shepherd until finally he was facing a charge for manslaughter.

In a spectacular development, Shepherd absconded from his own Old Bailey trial and played a game of cat and mouse with the British Police and the press while on the run, eventually making his way to Tbilisi in Georgia, from where he attempted to fight his extradition and to challenge his conviction for manslaughter.

Meanwhile, Charlotte’s family never give up their fight to bring one of the UK’s most wanted fugitives to justice.

The documentary series airs Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 December at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
