JASON ATHERTON TRAVELS TO DUBAI FOR ITV COOKERY SERIES

This summer, Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton will debut a brand new 10-part cooking series, Jason Atherton’s Dubai Dishes, on ITV1 and ITVX. The world-renowned restaurateur will take viewers on an inspiring culinary journey of discovery to uncover Dubai’s diverse heritage through food.

In his quest to find the very best dishes this multicultural city has to offer, Jason will journey from the golden beaches of Dubai into the heart of the Arabian Desert to learn what makes this country one of the most exciting places in the world for gastronomy.

Along the way the celebrity chef will share his own take on local dishes, setting up his mobile kitchen against stunning backdrops, including poolside in a stunning mansion. Jason will also join local friends and some of Dubai’s most acclaimed chefs, as they share their expertise and recipes for their signature dishes.

In episode one, Jason’s adventure begins with a deep-dive into the importance of spices, before venturing far and wide to discover Dubai’s flourishing food scene - from the bustling old town souks, to an elegant chocolate maker who uses spice in a very unusual way!

Jason Atherton said: “I’ve been part of the culinary scene in Dubai for more than 20 years and I’m honoured to be launching this new series from a country I feel so inspired by. Now I want to share some of my passion for the city’s food with viewers. They can expect to learn, not only about the origins of some of Dubai’s rich food heritage, but also some delicious new recipes - some from my friends and some of my own favourites - that are inspired by the people and places in this incredible Emirate.”

Leanne Clarke, ITV Daytime Assistant Commissioner said: “We are so looking forward to having the brilliant Jason Atherton on board and bringing us a taste of Dubai this summer. His mouth-watering adventures are sure to get us all having a go at our very own middle eastern cuisine.”

Charlotte Davis, RockOyster Creative Director said: “We are delighted to have worked with Visit Dubai and Jason Atherton on what will prove to be the most mouth-watering series. If you think you know the Dubai gastronomic scene, think again! This series proudly showcases the eclectic mix of delicious cuisines from all round the world. We can’t wait to show all that Dubai has to offer.”
