HOLE IN THE WALL: PLANS FOR REBOOT DROPPED BY BBC FOLLOWING PILOT

Following a pilot recording earlier this year with Alison Hammond, and reports a couple of months ago from The Mirror that it had been commissioned, the BBC have now reportedly dropped plans for a reboot of Hole In The Wall.
The pilot recording earlier this year was hosted by Alison Hammond was reportedly a success, with The Mirror going on to report the BBC had commissioned a full series. However, Broadcast now reports the BBC have dropped plans for the reboot to instead prioritise new ideas.
The show ran for two series on BBC One Saturday nights, first hosted by Dale Winton and later Anton Du Beke and saw two teams of celebrities try to force themselves through crazy-shaped holes in giant moving walls.
Just last week, the BBC announced new Saturday night gameshow Wisdom of the Crowd (8x60'), from the makers of The 1% Club and hosted by John Bishop, which sees bold contestants having to take on the collective knowledge of the crowd.
In each show individual contestants take on the might of the Crowd. Who will win the cash prize? The science says the Crowd should win and share the money between them, but will any of our contestants manage to take all the money for themselves by beating Wisdom Of The Crowd?
John Bishop says: "I'm delighted to be back on the BBC on Saturday nights to host Wisdom of the Crowd. This big new entertainment format gives an interesting take on group dynamics - not only testing what the individual contestants know, but also testing what the crowd knows (or what they think they know!) I can’t wait for audiences to see it."

Wisdom of the Crowd will film in MediaCity, Salford. Transmission details will be announced in due course.
