Monday 5th October
David reveals that Doug has swiped both the toaster and the biscuit tin, Jodie plays it down and assures him that he probably just needs to have his meds tweaked. Shona confides in Bethany that she’s worried about her own mental state as she often hears Harper crying when she isn’t there.
When Jodie calls Doug’s doctor and accuses him of being a danger to the family, the mental health team arrives to assess him. Shona tearfully tells him how sorry she is. As Doug is led away he warns Shona to watch her back where Jodie’s concerned. Later, Bethany catches Jodie red handed but Jodie has her own plan to keep Bethany quiet…
Christina watches as Lucy heads towards No.4. George urges caution but Christina ignores him and, painting on a smile, heads over. Sally calls at the café and is unimpressed to find Lucy bunking off school and enjoying a drink with Christina. Sally orders Lucy home and parks herself opposite Christina. Sally agrees to speak to social services and take their advice, but spells out to Christina that until then she must keep her distance as Lucy is a vulnerable child. Will Christina listen to Sally?
Summer takes a call informing her that Marco’s been involved in a car accident. As Summer hurries into A&E, PC Jess Heywood approaches and explains that Marco was involved in a car crash in which he was the getaway driver. How will Summer react?
Wednesday 7th October
As Jodie returns home with Shona’s birthday cake, she finds Shona frantically searching the living room. Shona explains that she heard the crying again but it sounded like a recording rather than the real thing. As David and Jodie set about decorating the bistro for Shona’s birthday party, Lily arrives.
When Lily’s phone is plugged into the docking station, suddenly the room is filled with the sound of Harper crying. Shona accuses Lily of recording Harper’s crying in a bid to convince her she was losing her mind. Swearing blind that she’s no idea how Harper’s crying found its way onto her phone, an upset Lily flees from the party. Is Lily telling the truth or has Jodie influenced her?
At the undertakers, George and Todd are thrown into panic when they discover Rachel’s ashes have gone and there’s no sign of Christina. George finds Christina sitting on the swings in the precinct, clutching the urn containing Rachel’s ashes. When George assures her that they’ll find their own way to honour Rachel, Christina hands it over. George hands Christina a photo frame containing two pictures; one of Rachel and one of Daisy. Christina’s deeply moved.
Sam calls at Speed Daal after school. Leanne tells him that to prove how much she trusts him, she’d like him to work in the restaurant. Sam spies Idris’s credit card lying on a table. Sam emerges from Speed Daal clutching Idris’s credit card.
In the shop, a despondent Summer reveals that Marco was denied bail. When Alya, Asha and Todd suggest she’s better off without him, Summer shoots them daggers.
Thursday 8th October
At No.8, the living room is strewn with someone’s belongings as a paramedic tends to a casualty on the floor. As a family feud between Shona and Jodie reaches its breaking point, accusations fly and secrets are exposed, pushing one of them to their limit.
When a weapon is drawn, the situation spirals into chaos and a gunshot rings out. As the dust settles, one person lies stricken and the family is left reeling in horror. But who has been shot and will they survive?
Friday 9th October 2026
David calls an ambulance and explains that someone has been shot. The paramedics arrive together with the firearms officer. Lisa questions David about the shooting. Will David be able to shed any light?
DC McLaughlin tells Lisa that Kit has called in sick for the third time this week. When Lisa receives a report of a shooting on Coronation Street, she hurries out. In the hospital chemo room, the nurse talks Kit through the side effects of his treatment and urges him to speak to his boss as he won’t be fit for work. Kit calls at the station to find Lisa furiously typing up her notes. Lisa rounds on him for failing to answer his calls but when Kit reveals that he’s got cancer, Lisa’s stunned. Lisa promises Kit that she and the force will support him anyway they can.
In Speed Daal, Sam settles himself at a table and is about to enter Idris’s card details into the crypto app when suddenly Idris appears behind him. Idris retrieves his bank card from Sam. Deeply embarrassed, Sam explains how he was hoping to make enough money to pay both him back and pay off his debt to Nick. How will Idris react?
In the Rovers, Kevin and Ronnie discuss the shooting at No.8 and wonder if it was the gun that belonged to Fiona which was never found.
When Summer receives a visiting order from Marco in prison, Todd does his best to hide his misgivings and offers her a lift.
