ADULTERY: FIRST LOOK AND TRAILER RELEASED FOR NEW ITV DRAMA FROM DANNY BROCKLEHURST, STARRING DOMINIC COOPER
ITV has released first look images of the cast in the new scandalous romance drama, Adultery, written and created by BAFTA-award winning writer Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Brassic).
Newly released images show Dominic Cooper (Preacher, The Devil’s Double) and Romola Garai (One Life, Vigil) as Tom Kirkman and Beth Brookes sharing an intimate moment, offering a glimpse into the insatiable desire between their characters in the series.
Tom’s daughter Jess (Leila Khan – Heartstopper, Crookhaven) can be seen with Beth’s son Ollie (Johnny Sanpher), blissfully unaware of their parents’ secret and wrapped up in a young love story of their own.
Meanwhile, Beth’s husband Neil (Matthew McNulty – Domina, Deadwater Fell) and Tom’s wife Hannah (Shelley Conn – Gen V, Bridgerton) remain none the wiser, as their partners risk the collapse of their marriages and the lives of both families being changed forever.
Additional casting includes Andrew Knott (Gavin & Stacey, Protection) as Dave, the ex-husband of Beth’s recently deceased best friend, and James Murray (The Crown, Masters of the Air) and Charley Webb (The Long Shadow, Better) as Paul and Leah Kirkman, Tom’s brother and sister-in-law.
The provocative love story raises questions about class, grief and the effects of social media, as it takes the viewer on a rollercoaster story of passion, parenthood and peril, as Tom and Beth embark upon a passionate and intense love affair that threatens to uproot their whole lives. Adultery is naturally authentic and bristling with passion as it focuses upon two families and messy complications.
The series introduces us to Tom’s 15-year-old daughter Jess who has found love with schoolmate Ollie, and they can’t take their hands off one another, as love’s young dream becomes all consuming. When Tom meets Ollie’s Mum Beth in the most unexpected of circumstances, the two families’ lives are potentially turned upside down forever. Will Tom and Beth be able to control their desires unlike their lovestruck teenagers?
Produced by Poison Pen Studios (part of ITV Studios) for ITV and STV, the six-part series will launch this October and will be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
