The Great British Truck Up will explore what it takes to become an HGV driver in a Britain that’s desperate for more drivers.

Following the journeys of hopeful drivers from across the country, viewers will witness the difficulties currently being faced by learners, training centres and logistics companies that mean the UK is grinding to a halt.

Analysing just how hard it is to get onto the path to even take the test, the show will test whether the government’s response to the driver shortage is enough to keep Christmas on track.

Sandy Smith, Exec Producer, said: “Everyone remembers Driving School. This is lorry driving school with Christmas and a lot more riding on it. Viewers will be cheering the candidates on as they wrestle with low bridges, 3 point turns and a bundle of preconceptions about what makes a lorry driver in 2021.”

Transmission details will be announced in due course.
