BIG BROTHER REBOOT: WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

The Big Brother house has a brand new home, as the global television phenomenon makes its much anticipated return to UK television and moves onto ITV2 and ITVX from 2023.

TRANSMISSION

The new series will air in Autumn 2023, having previously been delayed from its original launch of Spring 2023. I announced this decision late last year, citing other reality series airing in the first half of this year.

ITV have revealed that the new series will span 36 episodes (34 highlights shows + 90 minute launch and final). The spin-off show will then air six nights a week after every main show, airing Sunday-Friday.

FORMAT

A new cast of carefully selected housemates, from all walks of life, will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home for up to six weeks, with cameras capturing their every move, and the nation following every twist and turn.

The action will all play out under the roof of the iconic Big Brother house, which will be given its own contemporary new look ready for this reimagining of the show. Clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions will be back, with the public once again playing a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner, who will walk away with a life changing cash prize.

HOST

The Sun reports that AJ Odudu has been offered the hosting duties of the iconic reality series and is finalising the contract. ITV say no decision has been made and any reports are pure speculation at this stage.

A source told The Sun: "AJ has been offered the Big Brother job and jumped at the opportunity. It’s a huge boost to her career. AJ and ITV are still ironing out details in her contract but she has told a lot of people the job is hers."

THE HOUSE

The new house was tipped to be built at Bovingdon Airfield, Hertfordshire, which is already home to the studios for Dancing On Ice, The Masked Singer and The Wheel. However, it's understood that the new house will not be located at Bovingdon Airfield.

ITV have not confirmed whether the new house will be purpose-built, or an existing house/building rigged with cameras. One place which can be ruled out is the show's previous site at Elstree, which has been built on since the last series in 2018.

THE HOUSEMATES

SPIN-OFFS

A spin-off series will air six nights a week after every main show, airing Sunday-Friday. The host and format has not been announced.

LIVE FEED

Though any Live Feed has not been officially confirmed by ITV, it's thought it would stream live on ITV's new streaming platform ITVX.
