BBC ANNOUNCES PLANS TO COVER THE LOCAL ELECTIONS 2023

On Thursday 4th May, Laura Kuenssberg will host overnight coverage from 11:40pm on BBC One for the Local Elections 2023 as the votes are counted in 2023’s bumper set of elections. BBC correspondents are at the key counts all around the country.



In the studio, Reeta Chakrabarti crunches the numbers on her giant screens, and Professor Sir John Curtice assesses the underlying electoral trends.



The BBC’s political editor, Chris Mason, analyses what these elections mean for each political party, and senior politicians are on hand to give their verdict on the results.


On Friday 5th May, Jo Coburn will host a special extended edition of Politics Live from 1:45pm on BBC One as the votes are counted in this year's bumper set of elections. BBC correspondents are at the all the key counts around the country.




David Wallace Lockhart crunches the numbers on his giant screen, and Professor Sir John Curtice assesses the underlying electoral trends. Senior politicians and commentators are on hand to give their verdict on the results.


The Local Elections take place on Thursday 4th May 2023.
