BBC BREAKFAST HANDED EXTENDED RUNNING TIME FROM JANUARY 2024

BBC Breakfast will air for an additional 15 minutes on weekdays from January 2024, TV Zone understands.

TV Zone exclusively revealed earlier this year that the BBC were in discussions about extending their Breakfast offering and extending BBC News At One, with the latter potentially moving to Salford.

From January next year, BBC Breakfast will begin at 6am like normal, but will now run until 9:30am every weekday. Presenters Jon Kay, Sally Nugent, Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty will all continue fronting the show.

There's no update on BBC News At One, but the move would be part of the broadcaster's 'across the UK strategy'. Breakfast's ITV rival Good Morning Britain was extended by half an hour to 9am in 2020.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One, BBC News and BBC iPlayer.
