BANNED CAMP: NETFLIX COMMISSION NEW REALITY SERIES

Netflix have commissioned a new reality series, Banned Camp, from Too Hot To Handle producers Thames.

Banned Camp sees contestants living together on a 'holiday camp'. The show's celebrity host - yet to be revealed - will enter camp each day to set a series of tasks or instructions which will dictate what campers are able to do or say for the rest of the day.

If all the campers follow the rules for the day, camp will be rewarded. But, if campers break a 'banned' rule, money will be deducted from the prize pot. Campers will be eliminated throughout the series by their fellow campmates.

A source told The Sun: "It is not difficult to see where the inspiration for this new Netflix show has come from. It’s clearly trying to tap into the tense, claustrophobic atmosphere of a camp, combined with a sprinkling of stardust along the way...

"But the streaming giant clearly has a lot of faith in the concept because they snatched it from the BBC who were also looking at developing the show before Netflix agreed a lucrative deal to bag it."

Netflix and Fremantle declined to comment.
