BANGED UP: CELEBRITIES GOING BEHIND BARS FOR NEW CHANNEL 4 SERIES
Channel 4 have commissioned HMP, a new reality series which will see a group of six male celebrities experience life as a prisoner behind bars.
The group of celebrities will spend eight days in decommissioned HMP Shrewsbury alongside former inmates, who are now 'reformed but have agreed to re-enter prison for filming'.
The Sun reports that the full line-up is actor Sid Owen; popstar HRVY; comedian Tom Rosenthal; journalist Peter Hitchens; former MP Neil Parish and former Googlebox star Marcus Luther. It's reported that Laurence Fox was due to take part, but withdrew due to political commitments.
An insider previously told The Sun: "The idea behind the show is it gives people who might have zero experience of prison life, or the criminal justice system in general, a taste of just what it is like...
"That could include celebs from a walk of life where they’ve looked at incarceration from a different angle, whether they are ex-police officers, politicians, or actors who have played crooks but never actually been banged up...
More details will be revealed in due course.
