ANTON & GIOVANNI'S BBC TRAVELOGUE 'AXED' AFTER TWO SERIES
The BBC have reportedly pulled the plug on Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice's travelogue after two series. The BBC say no decision had been made.
A source told The Sun: "Giovanni and Anton had conversations about another travel show and had discussed where they could go next after their trips to Sicily and Spain...
"But Giovanni has now been told this won’t be happening and there will not be another series. It’s embarrassing because he’d actively hinted about getting another run but all discussions are off and he’s been told the show is on the scrap heap now."
The first series saw Giovanni introducing his beloved home of Sicily to his friend and fellow dancer Anton Du Beke. Giovanni will be Anton’s guide as the pair discover what the sensational Mediterranean island has to offer - exploring everything from breathtaking sights such as Mount Etna and authentic old towns right through to sampling Sicilian cuisine and perhaps even indulging in a tango or two.
The latest series was Anton’s turn to showcase his special place as he introduces Giovanni to a host of delights the southern European country has to offer.
There will be no time for siestas on this trip though, as Anton fell in love with Spain as a child, spending his school summer holidays with his Spanish family in the North of the country, so he is very excited for Giovanni to experience everything Spain has to offer from surfing to sangrias and from festivals to flamencos!
Both series are available on BBC iPlayer.
