THE STORY OF NAZANIN ZAGHARI-RATCLIFFE SUBJECT OF NEW BBC FACTUAL DRAMA
The BBC has commissioned a new factual drama on the story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian citizen who was detained in Iran for six years, and her husband Richard Ratcliffe who campaigned tirelessly for her return.
The factual drama is based on a forthcoming book, A Yard of Sky, written by Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Richard Ratcliffe. It will be made by Fremantle-backed Dancing Ledge Productions (The Salisbury Poisonings) for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
A BBC spokesperson says: “Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Richard Ratcliffe’s extraordinary experiences captured everyone’s hearts; their journey is one of despair, courage and hope, spanning two countries and six years, and ultimately, it’s a story of how this family, who were forced apart by international events, were finally reunited.”
The 4x60 series covers the period from the day Nazanin was arrested at the airport in Tehran to her release and return to the UK six years later.
More details will be announced in due course.
