Sky have formally announced the commission of Witches Of Essex with Rylan and Alice, a 3x60' series coming to Sky History in the UK, produced by Mindhouse.

The new series will see TV presenter Rylan team up with Professor Alice Roberts to explore the 'most prolific spate of witch hunts in Britain'.
Using new investigative techniques and expertise, the series delves into the 16th and 17th century witch trials in Essex, a period when England, still reeling from the Reformation and ruled over by The Virgin Queen, launched an unprecedented state-sponsored attack on vulnerable women.
Sam Pearson, Head of Short Form Commissioning & Social Media at Hearst Networks UK, said: "It is immensely exciting to continue the expansion of our digital-first commissioning slate in the history space, continuing our collaboration with some of the brightest producers and original emerging voices. We have some truly fresh series on the way that take a unique look at the past, and I can’t wait for our audience to see and appreciate what’s on the way.”
More details will be announced in due course.
