BBC ONE RETURNS TO WATERLOO ROAD FOR MORE SCHOOL DRAMA

Waterloo Road will return with at least 15 more episodes on BBC One, with the current Series, comprising of 7 episodes, making up the original 22 episode commission.



The rebooted series sees familiar faces Kim Campbell (Angela Griffin), Donte Charles (Adam Thomas) and Chlo Charles (Katie Griffiths) return, alongside the new class of Waterloo Road.



Filming on the series continues this month in Manchester. The BBC originally commissioned a run of 22 episodes of Waterloo Road, meaning the show will return for at least 15 more episodes this year on BBC One. Transmission details will be announced in due course.


The BBC announced the reboot of Waterloo Road in the Autumn of 2021, to use its 'rich history of telling entertaining and gripping human stories while tackling the important issues of the day'.




Across the term, Waterloo Road’s teachers and parents have to learn on their feet as they try to navigate the ever changing social landscape - from teen homelessness to the cost of living, being LGBTQ+, racism, sexism, mental health and everything else facing young teens today.



Riots, scandals, fractured families and challenging kids – for Headteacher Kim Campbell and her team, fire-fighting is a way of life. Who said education was easy?


Series 1 of Waterloo Road is available now on BBC iPlayer. Episodes continues Tuesdays at 8pm on BBC One.
