PAUL SINHA'S TV SHOWDOWN AXED BY ITV AFTER TWO SERIES

Paul Sinha's TV Showdown, produced by Livewire Pictures, has been shelved by ITV with no plans for a third run, TV Zone understands.

The programme, hosted by comedian and Chaser from ITV's The Chase Paul Sinha, which sees famous faces battle it out in an ultimate TV trivia quiz, ran for 12 episodes over 2 series in 2021 and 2022.

Alongside Paul, actor Fay Ripley and comedian Rob Beckett headed up two teams of celebrity contestants every week. The series features viral clips of the most talked-about TV moments from recent years and yesteryear.

Paul guides the celebrities through four challenging rounds, including questions about a smorgasbord of clips, identifying a TV character from a set of clues given by celebrity guests, and the dramatic final spotlight round.

Speaking about the commission of a second series in 2021, Paul Sinha said: "It's great to be back hosting TV Showdown and I can't wait to see which celebrities rise to the occasion and which fall apart under the pressure"

This news comes weeks after it was confirmed by ITV that the broadcaster had no plans to bring back Britain's Brightest Family, which was hosted by Paul's The Chase co-star Anne Hegerty.

Previous episodes of Paul Sinha's TV Showdown are available to watch on ITV Hub.
