TV CHOICE AWARDS: VOTING OPENS FOR 2024 AWARDS

The first-round votes have been counted. Now it’s time to reveal which TV favourites will be stepping onto the red carpet at The London Hilton on Park Lane, on Monday 12th February, as the shortlist for the TV Choice Awards 2024 is unveiled.

Comedian and presenter Tom Allen will make his Awards debut as the host for our ceremony. And once the trophies have been handed out, stars of British TV will be celebrating their wins into the small hours.

While viewers may have said goodbye to Hebden Bridge’s powerhouse policewoman Catherine Cawood and her nemesis Tommy Lee Royce, viewers were delighted that they returned for a third series so it’s not surprising that the final run of Happy Valley is up for Best Drama Series award, while Sarah Lancashire makes Best Actress nomination list and James Norton is in the running to be named Best Actor. Could the show’s swansong sweep the board?

However Sally Wainwright’s creation isn’t the only one proving a triple threat, as previous Best New Drama winner Heartstopper appears in the same categories, with Kit Connor and Yasmin Finney up for acting honours.

When it comes to the Best Reality Show, will At Home With The Furys, Queer Eye or Claudia Winkleman’s nail-biting The Traitors end the triumphant reign of Ant and Dec’s I’m A Celebrity…? That’s for the readers to decide!

While much-loved shows and stars make it on to the shortlist year after year, it’s always good to see new arrivals on our list of nominees, and this year they include Good Omens on the Best Comedy Show list and Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, hoping to land the Best Lifestyle Show prize.

As ever the action in soapland has been non-stop and the nation’s favourite stars will be hoping to scoop acting awards on the night. Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale are all represented in the Best Soap Actor and Best Soap Actress categories, and they will also be battling to get their hands on our prized Best Soap trophy.

Whoever triumphs on the night, you can be sure that showbiz’s most watched stars and major players will be there when the TV Choice Awards are handed out at The London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday 12th February.
