 EXCLUSIVE

The Voice looks set to return to ITV in 2027, with production company Lifted Entertainment looking to film next year's series this Summer, TV Zone understands. It follows the news, revealed by TV Zone, that ITV have pushed back the airing of this year's series for a second time.

TV Zone understands ITV originally pushed back The Voice UK from Autumn 2025 to January 2026 when the broadcaster made the decision to axe Dancing On Ice, with The Voice planned to take its Sunday night slot in January. This means that next year's series could be filmed before this year's has even aired.

However, new gameshow The Floor was brought forward from its originally planned April launch to take Sunday nights, with The Voice UK now looking likely to air this Autumn. ITV declined to comment when approached by TV Zone, but added transmission details will be confirmed in due course.

This year's series of The Voice will see the return of the Battle rounds. Airing across 2x75' the Battles will air following the 6x75' audition episodes and be followed by the 1x120 semi-final and 110 minute-long series final. This series will be one episode longer than previous series at 10 episodes.

The iconic red chairs are ready to spin once again. Superstar coaches will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones return to the coaching panel, alongside last year’s winning coaches, McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who also made history last series as The Voice UK’s first-ever double chair.

Also joining the line-up is megastar Kelly Rowland, bringing a wealth of industry experience and a fresh new dynamic to the battle for the UK’s next big star.  Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, producer and television personality Kelly Rowland rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of global pop supergroup Destiny’s Child.

At the helm once again is presenter Emma Willis, who will guide the singers through every high note, chair turn and dramatic showdown as they ultimately battle to win a life changing record contract with music giants Universal Music Group, £50,000 in cash and a dream holiday to Universal Studios Resort in Florida.

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning, says: “We are delighted to have The Voice UK return. The new lineup brings something for everyone. With the return of our incredible coaches Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, plus the addition of the amazing Kelly Rowland bringing fresh insights and even more energy to the panel, we’re set for another unmissable series full of heart, talent and standout moments.”

Diego Rincón, Creative Director at Lifted Entertainment (ITV Studios), says: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Kelly Rowland to The Voice UK, joining our incredible panel of coaches. She’s a fantastic addition with a proven track record of discovering and mentoring new talent. Together this group is perfectly placed to mentor the next generation of music stars and deliver another brilliant series.”

Kelly Rowland says: “I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach, and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for. I can’t wait to hear all the new talent and to go to battle for my team. Let’s go!”

will.i.am says: "I can't wait for the new season of The Voice UK. I'm so happy to be back on it. If you thought last year was dope, this year we've got Kelly Rowland who's gonna take this season to the dopest level possible! We've got Danny and Tom who are the super dope duo, and the dopest legend of them all is back - Sir Tom Jones. The whole point of this show is to watch aspirational, ambitious singers pursue their dreams - it's a joy prescription for a healthy amount of dopamine that brings love to our lives."

Sir Tom Jones says: “It’s always a pleasure to return to The Voice UK as every year I’m reminded of the incredible talent we have in this country. I’m looking forward to sitting alongside will.i.am once again, having Tom and Danny in their chair for a second series, and of course I’m excited to welcome Kelly Rowland to the panel. She’s an amazing artist with a huge amount of experience to share.”

Tom and Danny say: “We are absolutely buzzing to be back in the double chair! Last series was an incredible ride and we loved taking Ava all the way to the final together. We’re ready for another go at finding a winner and this time we’ve got Kelly Rowland to compete with, which makes it even more exciting. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the show.”

Emma Willis says: “I’m so excited to be back for another series of The Voice UK. It’s one of the most joyful shows to work on - full of passion, talent and of course those unforgettable moments when the chairs turn. With our brilliant coaches returning and the utterly fabulous Kelly Rowland joining the panel, I know this series is going to be something really special.”

ITV Studios will handle the distribution of the series.
