THE VOICE KIDS SHELVED BY ITV AFTER SEVEN SERIES

IF YOU MISSED IT

The Voice Kids has been shelved by ITV after seven series, though the adult version of The Voice UK will continue into 2024.

Hosted by Emma Willis, the series recently moved back to its Summer slot after spending two series airing over the festive period. On the coaching panel were Boyzone favourite Ronan Keating returning and joining long-term coaches will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones on the hunt for the best young music stars.

Singers between the ages of seven and 14 will perform in front of the famous big red chairs all in the hope of turning both heads and chairs in their bid to become The Voice Kids champion.

An ITV spokesperson said (via The Sun): "The Voice Kids is taking a break in 2024. We’re working with Lifted Entertainment on The Voice UK for 2024 and development of The Voice-branded specials."

A source told The Sun: "The show had a good run and had its own fanbase, but execs are keen to free up scheduling space for other new programming to keep ideas as fresh as possible. The cast have great memories from the series, but have plenty of other projects to keep them busy."

The Voice UK will also return to ITV later this year. In the search for the next singing sensation - Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am - have once again assumed their roles as the superstar Coaches and returned to their seats in the most iconic chairs on television.

The Voice Kids is available on ITVX.
