THE TRAITORS: BBC SET TO REACH DEAL FOR CELEBRITY SERIES IN 2025

The BBC are set to reach a deal with producers Studio Lambert for a celebrity series of The Traitors, Deadline reports. The series would be expected to film and air next year.

It follows initial reports from The Sun earlier this year that the star-studded spin-off was in the works. At the time, sources told TV Zone that nothing had been commissioned and a celebrity special was unlikely outside of Comic Relief sketches.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors is a nail-biting psychological reality competition where 22 strangers play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

A source previously told The Sun: "Bosses want big names as the show is getting big viewing figures, and they know they’ll have plenty to choose from as The Traitors has huge fans within the showbiz world...

"But they also want stars who are likely to be great game-players and who have great survival skills, the ability to double-cross or a way of sniffing out a back-stabber."

The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The BBC and Studio Lambert declined to comment when approached by Deadline.
