NETFLIX GREENLIGHTS TOP BOY PREUQEL AND SPIN-OFF SERIES

Netflix has greenlit Jonny Boy, a five-episode prequel from the world of Top Boy with Academy Award nominated and BAFTA-winning actor Barry Keoghan reprising his role as Jonny. Written and created by Ronan Bennett. “WOLFCUB Productions is proud to bring Jonny McGee — the character introduced in Top Boy's third and final season — to the screen in JONNY BOY.

"We pitched our vision and idea to Netflix and the Executive Producers and they were so supportive in wanting to bring our passion project forward, exploring Jonny McGee’s origin story through a new bold lens." said founders Barry Keoghan and Des Byrne.

Netflix has also greenlit a Top Boy story centered on Jaq, with Jasmine Jobson—BAFTA winner for her performance in the original series—set to return. Created and written by Ryan Calais Cameron. Based on the series Top Boy created by Ronan Bennett.
