THE GENIUS GAME: ITV DEVELOPING UK VERSION OF KOREAN GAMESHOW
ITV are reportedly developing a UK version of hit Korean gameshow format The Genius Game, which Broadcast reports is to air on ITV1 and ITVX.
The Genius Game sees thirteen members of the public compete against each other in 'matches' that test their intelligence, strategic thinking and social skills. Each player is chosen because of their intelligence and charisma.
The games test their "analytical reasoning, attention to detail, memory and loyalty, as participants must form alliances to survive and decide who they can trust and who to betray in order to be crowned ‘the Genius’ to win a cash prize."
James Townley, global head of content development at Banijay, said: "The Genius Game is an entertaining, high-stakes, social game which has generated significant international interest. We have experienced and talented creatives in the UK, Denmark, and Norway who are ready to bring this psychological social experiment to audiences."
TV Zone has approached ITV for comment.
