THE GADGET SHOW TO BE 'REBOOTED' BY CHANNEL 5 AFTER CRAIG CHARLES QUITS

A rebooted version of the long-running technology series is set to air later this year.

Craig and the existing presenters

Channel 5 are to "reboot" The Gadget Show, following the news that its lead present Craig Charles has left the show after five years, TV Zone understands.

Craig said (via The Sun): "I don't think I'll co-present any more Gadget Shows, so that's gone. I like new adventures - I'm always looking forward rather than back."

Craig hosted the series alongside Ortis Deley, Jon Bentley and Georgie Barrat. It's unclear whether any of the previous onscreen team will return for the new series. The new series will continue to film and be produced in Birmingham.

The Gadget Show is a long-running tech-focussed magazine show which first aired on Channel 5 in 2004, and has aired 34 series and dozens of specials to date.

More details will be revealed in due course. TV Zone has approached Channel 5 for comment.
