THE DROP SET TO BE SHELVED BY BBC THREE AFTER ONE SERIES
The Drop, the BBC Three streetwear competition series hosted by Radio presenter Clara Amfo, has been axed after one series. This has not been confirmed by the BBC, but the BBC declined to comment when approached by TV Zone.
The series, which aired last Spring on the newly relaunched BBC Three TV channel, saw nine of Britain’s most promising up-and-coming creatives enter their streetwear brand into a life-changing competition.
Filmed in Manchester, the series captured the cultural synergy between fashion, music, sport, celebrity and business and provide one individual with a life-changing prize. Grammy Award winning artist Miguel led the judging panel as Head Judge and Consulting Executive.
Marc Jacques Burton joined the judging panel as a series judge. An entrepreneur and high-end designer, Marc has his own luxury British label called MJB and Starlit, a womenswear brand which he co-founded.
Professional skateboarder, designer and model Blondey completed the judging line up. Blondey has collaborated with and modelled for some of the biggest fashion brands in the world including Burberry, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Supreme and Adidas.
The Drop is available on BBC Three and iPlayer now.
