THE CABINS CLOSES ITS DOORS AFTER TWO SERIES ON ITV2

ITV2’s dating show The Cabins will not be returning for a third series, TV Zone understands.

Produced by 12 Yard, and based on an original Dutch format, Let Love Rule, The Cabins saw a cast of singletons ditching the dating rule book and deleting their dating apps in an attempt to find true love.

Moving into the intimate surroundings of The Cabins, the singletons then had 24 hours to decide whether they would like to spend more time together – or call it a day and walk away.

Following its debut in January 2021, the programme became ITV Hub’s most popular entertainment show at the time, generating 400,000 streams and more than 800,000 consumption hours.

ITV confirmed to TV Zone it had no plans for future series. Previous episodes of The Cabins are available to watch on ITV Hub.

This revelation comes after ITV confirmed the Winter edition of Love Island will return in early 2023, taking back the weeknight 9pm slot occupied by The Cabins from 2021-22.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller, ITV2, said:

“Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience. So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show.”
