BAFTA-nominated Lee Mack’s award-winning hit ITV game show returns for a fifth series, with a Valentines Day special and Kids special.

The show sees 100 contestants begin every show, but to make it to the end and win the top prize of up to £100,000, contestants must correctly answer a question only 1% of the country would get right. Contestants of all ages and backgrounds can take part, because, unlike most quizzes, no swotting up on general knowledge is required to do well - logic and common sense are the key to success.

As part of the new series, the show will air its first Valentines Day special in February, plus a Kids special which will see 100 children take part in the hit quiz. Transmission details for both specials will be announced in due course.

The 1% Club is a global hit and the biggest original quiz show in more than a decade - it regularly exceeds six million viewers an episode, and since it launched three years ago, it has been streamed over 40 million times and reached 43 million viewers.

Imagine a game show where an eight-year-old has as much chance of winning as an 80-year-old or where intelligence isn’t based on how many exams you passed, but is all about how your brain works - The 1% Club is a unique, compelling and funny gameshow that tests the nation’s intelligence, based on a scientific survey.

This primetime entertainment format is not about what you learned at school or your ability to memorise facts – it’s about real intelligence and a chance to test your brain through a series of questions that often lead to extremely entertaining answers which sees host Lee Mack interacting with the contestants.

The 1% Club returns Saturday 10th January on ITV1.
