The nation’s favourite dance show, Strictly Come Dancing, is returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Autumn with another spectacular series of glitz, glamour and unforgettable performances with the brand new series promising to be extra special as Strictly turns 20!
Made by BBC Studios Entertainment Productions, Strictly Come Dancing, which recently won in the Best Entertainment category at the 2024 BAFTA TV Awards, will be presented by Tess Daly, who has presented during every series ever since the very first back in 2004, alongside the ever faithful Claudia Winkleman in the famous ballroom.
The judges desks will see the return of the awesome foursome - Queen of Latin Shirley Ballas, the magnificent Motsi Mabuse, the fantastically fab-u-lous Craig Revel-Horwood and the always effervescent Anton Du Beke.
THE RUMOURS
Tom Dean
Team GB Olympian
The gold medal winner has already confirmed he will be taking part in the new series. Speaking at the Olympics, Dean said (via PA News Agency): "Naturally you want to take a break after you've had a full Olympic cycle and the opportunity arose. I thought it would be really exciting to try something a bit different."
Shayne Ward
Actor and singer
A source told The Sun: "Shayne is a previous winner of an audience-voted talent show so will have high hopes of doing it again. He is excited to begin training. He has some dancing experience so could be a contender for the glitterball trophy."
Tasha Ghouri
Love Island star
A source told The Sun: "Whilst fans who like a journey will be irked she is a professional dancer, others who enjoy watching incredible moments from the off will be more than satisfied. She’s also become a powerful force for good campaigning and raising awareness for those with disabilities."
Paul Merson
Former Footballer
A source told The Sun: "Footballers always do well with fans, whether they can dance or not. But he also has a past, having had to battle addictions to drugs, booze and gambling."
GK Barry
Social Media Star
A source told The Sun: "“Grace has had two meetings with Strictly about appearing on the show... Grace knows this is an opportunity to become more of a household name, even though she is already hugely popular online."
Nick Knowles
Presenter
A source told The Sun: "Nick has always loved Strictly and he is so excited. He’s got a great personality, is incredibly driven and competitive and is up for giving anything a crack. He’s going on the show to entertain and to win. He’ll give it his best shot."
Nicola Roberts
Singer, Girls Aloud
A source told The Sun: "Nicola is a beautiful dancer with amazing musicality. She was really impressive on the Strictly special and her waltz was beautiful. They’d love to have Nicola back and the offer is there for her."
Chris McCausland
Comedian
A source told The Sun: "Strictly Come Dancing bosses are delighted by the signing and think Chris will be great on the show. He has a hilarious sense of humour and an infectious personality."
Martin Roberts
Presenter, Homes Under The Hammer
A source told The Mirror: "Martin is just waiting to sign his contract. It'll be a dream come true for him - and a delight for viewers."
Toyah Wilcox
Singer
Wilcox told The Mirror: "Oh, God yeah. Well, I’d have to do it sooner rather than later, because I’m not going to be able to move like that in two years’ time. I do understand how hard they work. I’m friends with Angela Rippon and she was extraordinary."
Dave Fishwick
Star, Bank Of Dave
A source told The Sun: "Dave is a real community hero and the best of British. Strictly think his inspiring back story will win him new fans on and shine a spotlight on the amazing work he has done for people and business in Lancashire."
Sam Quek
Former Olympian
A source told The Sun: "The show is really tapping into the buzz surrounding the Olympics this year, as well as heavily leaning into BBC talent - perhaps more than ever before. But Sam has very much become a star in her own right in recent years, and has been carving out a niche as a presenter."
