STARSTRUCK SET TO RETURN FOR THIRD SERIES ON ITV

Starstruck, the ITV music entertainment show which sees members of the public transformed into music icons, is set to return for a third series following ratings success.

Though the series has not been formerly greenlit by ITV, the producers have opened applications for the third series, which they "expect to go ahead later this year." TV Zone reached out to ITV for comment.

The news comes ahead of the second series, which begins on ITV1 this weekend (18th February 2023). The new series sees the Queen of Country Pop, Shania Twain joining the judging panel alongside Adam Lambert, Beverly Knight and Jason Manford. Olly Murs hosts the series.

In each episode, viewers see contestants undergo the ultimate ‘superstar experience’, shedding their normal personas to become global icons, all courtesy of an elite team of glam and stylists overseeing an extraordinary on screen transformation.

ITV's Head Of Entertainment, Katie Rawcliffe, previously said: "Starstruck has been a brilliant addition to our sparkling Saturday night schedule, with its stellar panel, stunning transformations and stand out vocals proving an instant hit amongst audiences."

Exec producer, Cat Lawson, previously added: “We couldn’t be prouder of this series. Full credit to our incredible host, panel and super talented contestants. We simply cannot wait to uncover more teams of secret superstars and give them the ultimate popstar glow-up.”

Starstruck returns Saturday 18th February at 8:30pm on ITV1. Watch the previous series on ITVX.
