STAGED: DAVID TENNANT CONFIRMS END OF COMEDY AFTER THREE SERIES

David Tennant has confirmed that Staged, the comedy series in which he stars alongside Michael Sheen, will not be returning for a fourth series.

David Tennant said (via The Sun): "We've had a wonderful time filming the series but have no plans to do more. It was a show borne out of a particular period of time - lockdown - when we were all in our houses communicating via Zoom, as our characters did in the show. We couldn't get out. Now, as the characters demonstrate in some of the scenes in the new series, we can."

The third series is currently airing on BBC One and iPlayer and sees David Tennant and Michael Sheen once again joined by Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg.

After a fallout with Michael and David, the director Simon tries his very best to get them to work on a project with him again, however this proves to be a difficult task. Watch the pair navigate life after lockdown in a hilarious third season.

Having started life during the pandemic, Staged was named Best Comedy at New York Festivals TV & Film Awards in 2022 and was also named Best Comedy at the Broadcasting Press Guild awards in 2021.

Created by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn, Staged (6 x 22) is written and directed by Simon Evans and is an Infinity Hill and GCB Films production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Produced by Phin Glynn, Victor Glynn and Georgia Tennant, the executive producer are David Tennant and Michael Sheen.
