SPRINGWATCH RETURNS TO BBC TWO FOR NEW SERIES

Springwatch is back to sprinkle a little sunshine on the season. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan are broadcasting from RSPB Arne in Dorset, where spring has finally arrived. As usual, the site is bugged with remote cameras to follow the hatchings and fledglings of the season.

Iolo Williams is splitting his time between RSPB Arne and the wider Dorset area, and in this episode he's at Corfe Castle, where he has a breathtaking live nest to launch and some behind-the-scenes footage of what it takes to rig a historical monument.

Megan McCubbin is at a spectacular location on the Isle of Bute, hoping to catch a glimpse of osprey, as she sets off on a wild Scottish.

Later in the week, Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan introduce a medley of live nests at RSPB Arne in Dorset. It might only be night two, but the drama is already unfolding.

Iolo Williams heads further afield to Hengistbury Head, where a coastal cast of characters reside. He’s in search of one of its more vocal inhabitants. Megan McCubbin continues her Scottish adventure, heading into the woodlands, where she hopes to catch a glimpse of the island’s remote red squirrel population.

Then, Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan commentate on the comings and goings of the live nests as the drama unfolds in Dorset.

Iolo Williams is back at Hengistbury Head, where he reveals the secret drama playing out in the shallow ponds on the cliffside, while Megan McCubbin goes in search of seals on Bute’s sandy shores.

In the fourth episode, Iolo Williams heads back to the fold and joins Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan at RSPB Arne in Dorset to round up the week and answer viewers' wildlife-themed questions.

The team are joined by special guest Louis VI, a zoologist and musician who takes inspiration from the natural world in the composition of his poetic and music.

On the Isle of Bute, Megan McCubbin heads to the town’s port, where the wildlife is making use of the man-made structures.

Springwatch returns Monday 27th May at 8pm on BBC Two.
