SHAKESPEARE, MY FAMILY AND ME: DAME JUDI DENCH TO FRONT NEW CHANNEL 4 DOCUMENTARY

Dame Judi Dench is to front a new one-off Channel 4 documentary Shakespeare, My Family And Me this Autumn which will explore the possibility that the actress' eight-times great-grandfather may have met the writer.

The documentary will explore whether Dame Judi's eight-times great-grandfather could have met the writer in the year 1606, the year Shakespeare penned Macbeth, King Lear and Antony & Cleopatra.

Dame Judi commented: "It has been such an adventure to explore the possibility that an ancestor of mine might just have got within touching distance of my hero. All the years I’ve spent playing Shakespeare and feeling a genuine passion for his work, to be on a journey where you might be stepping closer to him, it’s beyond my wildest dreams."
