SARA PASCOE ANNOUNCED AS NEW HOST OF BBC's SEWING BEE

Sara will take over hosting duties from Joe Lycett, who has decided to step down after three series.

Fresh from putting her own sewing skills under scrutiny on the Sewing Bee Christmas special last year, comedian and writer Sara Pascoe is to be the new presenter for the brand new series which will tx on BBC One and iPlayer.

Sara Pascoe says: “It’s such an honour to get to be part of a show I love watching. I’m so inspired by creativity and skill and I am *deeply* in love with clothes so I can’t think of a happier place to be!”

Patrick Holland, BBC Director, Factual, Arts and Classical Music Television, said: “I’m so delighted that Sara is taking over in the sewing room. As well as being one of our funniest comedians she’s passionate about the inspirational impact of this wonderful show. I’d like to thank Joe for his brilliant three years at the helm and look forward to working with him on future projects.”

Susanne Rock, Executive Producer Love Productions says: “It's brilliant to welcome Sara into The Sewing Bee. She is so funny and warm-hearted - just the person to give our new sewers all the encouragement they need. We’re really lucky to have her join Patrick and Esme and we can’t wait to see what she’ll get up to in the Sewing Room”.

Joe Lycett says: “I am absolutely thrilled that my friend Sara Pascoe is the new host of The Great British Sewing Bee. I loved the three series I did, but I can’t wait to see how she makes the haberdashery her home”.

The Great British Sewing Bee returns in 2022 on BBC One and iPlayer.
