ROOM 101 FORMAT REVIVED BY BBC RADIO 4

Room 101 is on Radio 4 for the first time, with host Paul Merton interviewing a wide variety of guests from the world of comedy and entertainment about their pet hates and worst nightmares.



Room 101 began life on BBC Radio 5 in 1992 where it was presented by Nick Hancock. Paul Merton, who returns to host the new Radio 4 version, from 1999-2007.



In 2012, the format was revived by the BBC with new host Frank Skinner. In Summer of 2018, the BBC had announced the series would end after 24 years.


Radio 4’s Comedy and Entertainment Commissioner Julia McKenzie said “I am really excited by this year’s range of commissions and hope they bring a bit of fun and laughter to the audience. With stars of the future joining those who are already close to listeners’ hearts, we’ve got something for all tastes.”
