Random Rewind: Drive, ITV
Random Rewind: we look back at some the best, and occasionally worst, entertainment shows from the past decade.
Drive
2016, ITV
Drive was a primetime ITV series which saw a group of celebrities take to the driving seats of a variety of vehicles. The series was hosted by Vernon Kay, with pundit Jason Plato and commentator James Allen.
The celebrities competed in a series of high-octane, unexpected and action packed challenges in old bangers, 4x4s, rally cross cars and more. The drivers with the slowest time in each task compete in a Night Race to determine who will remain in the competition.
In the final episode, the remaining celebrities took to the seats of Formula 4000 racing cars in a bid to be crowned Drive Champion.
The celebrities who took part were The X Factor's Louis Walsh, journalist Mariella Frostrup, singer Ella Eyre, Olympian Colin Jackson, comedian Johnny Vegas, presenter Laura Tobin, actor Angus Dayton and rapper Professor Green.
The series was won by Professor Green. Colin, Johnny, Laura and Angus also made the final. The show was axed by ITV after poor viewing figures.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Viewing figures have been appalling and Vernon hasn’t done any favours for the show following his sex text shame. Unsurprisingly, ITV aren't bringing it back for a second run."
