In 2016, comedian and presenter David Walliams fronted a one-off special of the quiz show Blankety Blank.

Commissioned by ITV in early 2016 as a one-off Christmas special, with the potential for a full series, it was the first full episode since 2002. It was formerly hosted by Sir Terry Wogan, Les Dawson and Lily Savage.

The celebrities featured on the one-off special were The Chuckle Brothers, Lesley Joseph, Joe Lycett, Anne Robinson, Brooke Vincent and Louis Walsh.

Speaking at the time, David said: "I loved Terry Wogan and Les Dawson as a child, and Paul O'Grady was absolutely hilarious. I hope I can bring this much loved show to life for a new generation."

Ultimately, the show was not successful enough to warrant a full series. The show was later revived by BBC One for another Christmas Special in 2020, this time hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Blankety Blank continues Saturday nights on BBC One.
