RACE ACROSS THE WORLD: THE FINAL AND REUNION SPECIAL ON BBC ONE
After racing nearly 14,000 kilometres over seven weeks and through seven countries, it’s all come down to 12 minutes. That’s all that separates the first two teams as they embark on the final leg of their Race Across the World from Jakarta to Lombok, where a prize of £20,000 awaits the winning team.
The four teams can only reach Lombok from the neighbouring island of Bali. To get there, they’ll need to navigate the length of Java, the most populous island in the world, before racing through Bali to cross into Lombok.
Teams will need to make every decision count with ingenuity, speed and wit. With just 12 minutes separating the first two teams, rivalries reach an all-time high.
For the reunion special, six months after finishing their race across the world, the five intrepid teams are reunited in London for the first time.
Together, they look back at the 51-day thrilling adventure that began in the northernmost part of Japan and covered 15,000 kilometres through seven countries, taking in some of the world’s most beautiful, populous and remote places to reach the finish line.
Unseen moments will be shown, and shocking revelations made, as these intrepid travellers reveal how they coped with the trials and tribulations of this life-affirming race and the impact it has had on them, their lives and their relationships.
Race Across The World concludes Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
