BBC QUESTION TIME HEADS STATESIDE FOR ELECTION SPECIAL
Question Time will hold a US election special as BBC One’s flagship political debate programme heads to the key battleground state of Pennsylvania in the lead up to the presidential election.
Chaired by Fiona Bruce, the debate will be recorded at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with an American audience and panel of politicians and prominent commentators.
The Question Time US election special will give American voters the chance to quiz the panel on topics crucial to the election such as the economy, immigration, abortion, foreign affairs, as well as the character and policy preferences of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. It will also give UK viewers a unique insight into the issues for US voters at such a volatile and divisive time in American politics.
Fiona Bruce says: “Question Time is unique in its ability to hold politicians to account and encourage debate between those in power and the voters. The world is watching America and with just a few weeks until polling day, Question Time’s format will create a lively discussion which may be distinctly challenging for the US politicians who aren’t regularly quizzed by the public on live TV...
"This promises to be a dynamic and revealing Question Time for US and UK viewers where we get a close and personal look at US politics and see what really matters to the voters in a key swing state."
The show will be recorded on Wednesday 9 October and broadcast on Thursday 10 October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Details of the panel will be confirmed soon.
