QUEENS FOR THE NIGHT SHELVED BY ITV WITH NO PLANS FOR SPECIAL THIS YEAR

EXCLUSIVE TV Zone understands ITV has no plans for second special of Queens For The Night, although the broadcaster could return to the format at some point in the future.

Queens For The Night, which is produced by Tuesday's Child, aired on ITV last Autumn and saw a cast of celebrities channel their inner drag queen for one night only in a competition like no other.

This primetime celebrity drag contest pairs each wannabe queen with their very own drag mentor, as they attempt to master this uniquely difficult craft. The celebrity wannabes also hone one of the distinctive disciplines, including singing, impressions and comedy, that each drag artist will expertly enact.

The celebrities, who last time included Simon Gregson, Mr Motivator, Adam Woodyatt and Chris Hughes, then performing live in front of a panel of expert judges and a live studio audience in a bid to be crowned the ultimate champion.

Queens For The Night is hosted by drag superfan Lorraine Kelly. She was joined by a panel made up of pop icon Melanie C, comedian Rob Beckett, Drag artist Courtney Act and actor Layton Williams.

Queens For The Night is available on ITVX.
