QUEEN OF THE NIGHT: ITV COMMISSION NEW CELEBRITY DRAG QUEEN COMPETITION
Queen Of The Night (w/t) will see a cast of celebrities will channel their inner drag queens and undergo the ultimate drag makeover as part of a fabulous competition that celebrates the art and appeal of drag in spectacular style.
Each wannabe drag queen is paired with their own drag mentor as they attempt to master the uniquely difficult craft of drag.
It's not just about perfecting how to wear the highest of heels, but they will also have to hone one drag discipline, whether that's singing, dancing, lip syncing, impressions, comedy or dragic (drag magic).
The celebrities will perform live in front of a panel of expert judges and a live studio audience but only one celebrity can be crowned winner after an audience vote
A source told The Sun: "It's set to be one of the funniest shows this year. Producers can't wait to see the acts perform. Everybody is staying tight lipped about the judges and contestants but some of those being considered would leave jaws hanging."
ITV has a long history of supporting drag, going back to A Night Out with Danny La Rue in the 1960s, and as the home of Dame Edna Everage and Lily Savage in the 1980s and 1990s.
It's due to air on ITV and ITV Hub as a primetime, one-off special later this year.
