Britain's Top Takeaways | Preview (BBC Two)

Britain’s Top Takeaways is a brand new series presented by Sara Cox and Darren Harriot. Set in the heart of Manchester, we’ve taken over a disused factory and opened up a truly epic takeaway kitchen.

Each week, five of the nations’ award winning, highly rated and innovative takeaways will compete in their own cuisine, cooking and delivering some of the finest take out in the country.

From top chippies going head to head in a fish & chip fry-off, to a battle of burgers, noodles, pizzas, Indian, fried chicken, kebabs… there’s even a Mexican showdown. Judging the food and deciding who wins will be a host of takeaway-loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their own homes.

Introducing the show’s judges: the Williams family, made up of mum Linda, dad Chris and their son Damon and daughter-in-law Kathryn; married couple Royston and Nick, who are hairdressers to the stars; Manchester takeaway-bloggers and loved-up couple Leah and Liam; vegetarian pensioners Keith and Linda; and The Spencer family, made up of mum Anya, dad Vivian and their five children, Elias, Joshua and twins Ella and Eden.

It’s Fish And Chip night on Britain’s Top Takeaways. Five of the nation’s top rated chip shops roll into Manchester for the ultimate fry-off.

Competing tonight from Scotland are Hugh and William from Tony’s Chippy in Glasgow; married couple Strad and Gina, whose love blossomed over the fryers and who together run Chris’s Chip Shop in Leicestershire; father and daughter Adam and Amber from Hirds’ Family Fisheries in Huddersfield; from Wales, Mia and Hamed, who run Posh Fish and Chips in Cardiff; and finally Vic and Bonny, two mums running top chippy Simpsons in Cheltenham.

Judging the fish and chips served up and deciding who wins will be a host of ordinary takeaway-loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their own homes; and guest judges, Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club.

Britain's Top Takeaways begins Monday 9th May at 8pm on BBC Two.
