Popular BBC One music quiz The Hit List, which sees teams compete for £10,000, will return to screens for an eighth series.

The Hit List produced by the award-winning Tuesday’s Child Scotland returns for its ninth series and the music‑fuelled competition is more addictive than ever.

Hosts Marvin and Rochelle Humes each Saturday put three pairs of music‑loving contestants through their paces in a fast‑paced quiz that tests their ability to recognise the biggest hits from across the years.

Covering all genres from rock to reggae, R&B to rap, the teams must name as many artists and song titles as possible, and stay cool under pressure, as they compete for a chance to take home a massive £10,000.

The series begins with three star-studded celeb specials, as Marvin and Rochelle welcome nine pairs of famous faces to battle it out for charity, including: La Voix & Jenny Ryan, Rav Wilding & Chesney Hawkes, Fatiha El-Ghorri & Harriet Kemsley, Chloe Burrows & Aitch, Gladiator stars Sabre & Nitro, Lisa Riley & Dominic Brunt, Chris Hughes & Jack P Shepherd, Sara Pascoe & Rhys James, and Gary Lamont & Renee Bailey.

The Hit List then has six fast paced episodes with contestants battling it out to see if they can bring home the £10,000 jackpot. Across four nail‑biting rounds, contestants face everything from five‑second challenges and lightning‑fast buzzers to high‑pressure intros and the iconic Final Chart Rundown. Only the speediest and sharpest Hit Listers will survive to the end.

The Hit List returns Saturday 25th July on BBC One.
