Soap Schedule Changes | Preview (March 2022)
Everything you need to know about the schedules changes to the ITV Evening News, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders, Doctors and Hollyoaks.

ITV EVENING NEWS
ITV's national and international news programme to run 6.30pm -7.30pm from Monday 7th March. Change will see the biggest expansion of jobs in ITV News in 20 years and bring even more live, and out of London national news content to ITV’s daily schedules. The regional news will continue at 6pm. Mary Nightingale continues as presenter of the ITV Evening News.
CORONATION STREET
ITV reveals 7th March start date for Coronation Street’s new hour long format. The soap will air 8-9pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Spring is in the air in Weatherfield and, with a new regular hour-long format for the nation’s favourite soap, what better time to launch the schedule as past secrets, lies and liaisons look set to cause problems for the street’s residents in a dramatic season of must see storylines.
EMMERDALE
From Monday 7th March Emmerdale celebrates a new era, in its 50th birthday year, as it moves to a new timeslot of 7.30pm across five weeknights with an hour long edition on Thursday evenings. At the centre of village life, the Dingles are renowned for their feisty relationships and with The Woolpack and the B&B set to host special events on the same day the warring landladies take sides and create havoc in a battle of one upmanship.
EASTENDERS
From Monday 7 March, EastEnders will TX at 7.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights on BBC One. The new schedule starts with a huge week in Walford as viewers will see the brand-new EastEnders set for the first time on air in an extremely dramatic week when the truth about Gray Atkins is finally exposed.
HOLLYOAKS
From March 2022, Hollyoaks will become the first UK soap to premiere on a streaming service on an ongoing basis, with new episodes available on All 4 prior to broadcasts on Channel 4 and E4. New episodes will be available from the morning, allowing fans to have some soap-related drama with their cereal, or stream at their leisure throughout the day, followed by linear showings that evening on E4, and Channel 4 the following day.
DOCTORS
Doctors will continue to air in its usual lunchtime slot at 1.45pm on BBC One but viewers will get another opportunity to watch in peak time when the drama gets its evening debut at 7pm on BBC Two. In in Doctors Jimmi is faced with an urgent crisis with one of his patients, whilst the pressure mounts for Zara who has not only introduced new Trainee GP Princess, but also realises the extent that one of her colleagues has gone to in their bid to divide and conquer but who will remain victorious?
