Sister Boniface Mysteries | Series 3 Preview (Drama)

Lorna Watson returns as Sister Boniface in a new third series of the popular crime drama. The cast includes Max Brown as DI Sam Gillespie, Jerry Iwu as DS Felix Livingstone, Miranda Raison as local reporter Ruth Penny and Ami Metcalf as Constable Peggy Button.

Never Too Deadly to Die: Sister Boniface is shaken and stirred when one of the screen-testing stars for the new Agent Best film is murdered. Sam (Max Brown) daringly races to identify mysterious parachutists descending over Great Slaughter, only to bump into Ruth (Miranda Raison).

The aerial stunts are all part of screen tests being held for the new Agent Jonas Best; the eponymous British spy character from the film franchise. Sam is introduced to dashing TV star, and Ruth’s new beau, Kingsley Markham (Luke Roberts), before he’s whisked on a tour of Silverkiss, the mansion belonging to spy turned author Lincoln Leigh Varsey (Denis Lawson).

Sister Boniface (Lorna Watson) is thrilled by Lincoln’s exotic mementos but they are soon disturbed by Campbell Kamen (James Sheldon), a pretentious theatre actor, who loudly accuses cocky Australian rival Benson Boyd (Jordan Mifsud) of sabotaging his parachute jump.

The screentests continue, with model turned actress Phoebe Volante (Manpreet Bambra) enraged at Benson’s improvisation. Benson suddenly gasps and dies very convincingly. Sister Boniface soon deduces this was no performance; he’s been murdered and the weapon was Lincoln’s deadly scorpion!

Sister Boniface Mysteries returns Friday 7th June at 9pm on Drama.
