Term continues at Norbourne, the charmingly dysfunctional police training college. Two new recruits join B Group: the irrepressible Danni is engaged and won’t let anyone forget it, while Connor is an enigmatic teller of tall tales.

Still struggling to knock the trainees into shape, Superintendents Bob and Julie find themselves competing to accompany Chief Super Cunningham on a business trip to the Bahamas - but soon discover that he wants to merge their two positions into one: a redundancy looms. Hoping to retain her job at Bob’s expense, Julie indulges in a spot of harmless gaslighting.
Sgt Daz Black is on a final warning about his violent conduct and must undergo anger management sessions with the slightly under-qualified Melanie. Geeta resorts to subterfuge when she’s voted Year Rep against her will, and Afia brutally fends off the advances of a strangely familiar admirer.
Dev is shocked to discover what happens when he’s forced to wear glasses, and double agent Paul finds his life in danger when Julie makes him go undercover to expose an OCG. When Melanie’s frustration at Bob’s lack of romantic awareness finally becomes too much, she reluctantly turns to Daz for some rough-and-ready satisfaction.
Bob meanwhile suspects one of the trainees may be his biological child and secretly arranges a DNA test. In a thrilling climax, a sexting incident derails Danni’s wedding and Cunningham sacks one of his Superintendents. On the big day, a terrified Paul faces up to the criminal showdown, and there’s a shock turn of events at the church…
Episode 1: Term continues at the charmingly dysfunctional police training college. B Group learns how to deal with Missing Persons and discover the crucial importance of the Golden Hour.
Two new recruits join the class: the irrepressible Danni is soon to be married and won’t let anyone forget it, while Connor is an enigmatic teller of very tall tales – has he really come from the Falklands? Still struggling to knock the trainees into shape, Superintendents Bob Weekes and Julie Spry find themselves competing to accompany Chief Superintendent Cunningham to a conference in the Bahamas.
Sergeant Daz Black is on a final warning about his violent conduct and must undergo anger management sessions – Julie assigns him to a course of therapy from the slightly under-qualified Melanie. This makes him even angrier. Student Officer Paul Huggins has been exposed as a mole (or ‘prune in the nest’) placed in the college by his criminal family - but is now forced to work for the police (as a ‘double prune’).
Episode 2: Geeta is voted Year Rep against her will - she tries to back out of her responsibilities and become ‘unchosen’, eventually resorting to subterfuge. Bob and Julie get a shock when Cunningham plans to merge their two Superintendent positions into one: a redundancy looms. Julie tries to persuade Bob to retire. The recruits are introduced to the Code of Ethics and which types of misconduct can lead to dismissal.
Daz’s frustration builds as he undergoes his first anger management session with the formidable Melanie. Julie has prepared a presentation to bring Cunningham up to speed on Paul’s role as a double agent – with Bob impressively operating the flipchart. Aunty Nooch urges Paul to get valuable intel – but he’s already under pressure from Julie to spy in the other direction.
Connor assists Danni with the writing of her wedding vows. Daz’s new anger controlling techniques are severely tested when he has to explain operational flexibility to B Group, under Melanie’s watchful eye.
Piglets returns Monday 12th January on ITV2.
